I had an idea for doing something like this a while back. In my never realised system, users entered a bunch of favorite actors, directors etc and would then get an email alert when their films or programmes were next on. Locatetv doesn't appear to do this yet, but expect some mash up-merchant will figure out a way of doing that soon...
