No One Died #3 wasn't quite the roaring success of the previous two, but those who made it down seemed to really enjoy it. Thanks if you were one of them...

Part of the lack of numbers could have been the new no smoking policy. We were the first club night at the venue to experience a Saturday night under the new regime. Hard to keep people upstairs in a club when they have to go outside and past another bar to have a fag.

We were also let down by the band Foxes! - who told us they wouldn't make it just three hours before they were supposed to be on stage. Foxes! were filling in for Monday Club (who dropped out due to illness but gave plenty of notice).

We contacted a bunch of bands we liked to find a replacement, first come first served...Foxes! were first... and we had to turn down other (bigger, possibly better) bands last week rather than break our promise. One of the bands we had to turn down was Sonicflyer - hopefully we can get them to play another time.

The Lovebirds

The Lovebirds and Patty Winters Show were great (and we were sorry we couldn't pay the much). They also had to put up with a rather shambolic sound man provided by the venue, though in fairness I think the sound was alright during the actual performances. The room looked fantastic and the DJs were pretty good too.

We ran at a loss, and are meeting the venue this week to discuss future plans. We are not giving up yet... especially as the newly re-formed, re-packaged Marcel are playing at the next No One Died.
